carmel fest

Is it bad if I brag on my dad a little bit? Carmel Fest is a big deal in my family. Well, because little ol' Gary Frey heads it up. This thing is a two day festival over the 4th of July weekend that includes food, and some other stuff, but mainly a lot of food. To appease my dad who's probably gonna hurt me if I don't mention the other stuff: there's also live music, non-food vendors, food, sideshows, a civil war re-enactment, food, a kids mini-carnival, food, 4th of July parade and a giant display of fireworks, and food. I walked around some on Friday. I had a wedding Saturday (which was a blast by the way) so I only caught the latter half of the fireworks, which included eight inch rounders!! So he heads this thing up. Him and heck of a lot of people put mucho tiempo (i.e., a whole year) into the fest to make it happen. Way to go Dad!
